Laurie Dean Baird is a research fellow and advisory board member at the Futures of Entertainment (FoE). FoE explores the current state and future of media properties, brands, and audiences, specifically how the media industries are evolving, how storytelling is changing and the shifting dynamics in how people relate to media properties and brands. She is also a strategic consultant at the Georgia Tech Institute for People and Technology. Baird has over 20 years of experience in corporate strategy, business development and R&D in digital media. She was director of technology partnerships for Turner Broadcasting where she launched Turner’s university research program, identified strategic partners and funded trials, prototypes and research in new media, including interactive design, gaming, mobile, social media and advanced TV. Previously, Baird was an executive in BellSouth, focusing on investments, acquisitions and product launches in the broadband market.
